When It’s Time for Your Outsides to Match Your Insides

What is your living message?

How can it be acknowledged and welcomed into your body of work?

Do you know that feeling when you’ve experienced a big inner shift, and now it’s time for your outsides to match your insides?

This can be the place where most of us get bound up.

Voices in our minds, already rising with critical undertones of impostor syndrome.

I was working with an amazing client recently who is evolving, beautifully, in her body of work and her coaching practice. For the majority of us, the knee-jerk desire is to complete what is new before sharing it.

We worked through what it meant to overlay the NEW on top of the solid base and foundation of the original content she’s already created and work from this openness.

Here is where I witness creatives getting the most caught up:

The gooey middle. The mid-air leap from the current identity to the new, better-fitting shell 🐌

It’s a part of the process, love, and no shame needs to be intertwined. It simply means you’ve grown. It's time for a different shell!

Here are 3 simple ways to support yourself in this process:

  1. Increase your self-awareness. Are you being overly critical? Are you expecting yourself to pull off the back handspring, front walkover, cartwheel to roundoff, scissors leap without warming up and working yourself up to it? Would you expect the same of anyone else? Is that fair?

  1. Anchor into empowering visuals. Would a new phrase or tagline help you move in this new direction? Are you trying to cram what's being born into what was?

  2. Talk it out with someone who can help. Nearly every time you are too close to the thing to be able to get the vantage point you need to be empowered through this transition. It's not about someone else having your answers, it is simply you being able to unpack them and peel them out for yourself.

Always remember, you are the best steward and messenger for your brand, and these iterations are welcome. Your audience and community will only feel more connected with you as they get to witness your growth.
